If you see the following error
Error YYYY/MM/DD hh:mm -- Warning: Skipping the data of table mysql.event. Specify the --events option explicitly.
Edit the /etc/my.cnf and the following at the end of the file.
[mysqldump] events ignore-table=mysql.event
